Doppy Open History

This fund raising event is dedicated to the memory of the late George "Doppy" Doherty, a wrestling and golf coach at Berner and Massapequa High Schools and a Tobay Beach lifeguard captain until his death in 1974. The proceeds from the annual events have gone toward scholarships for a Massapequa High School senior wrestler, and have surpassed $14,000 to date.
